Lauren Silberman didn’t waste any time after joining The Arc Prince George’s County as our Major Gift Officer—she jumped right in! She’s already making an impact, from planning awareness events to supporting our advocacy efforts. “I love being part of something bigger than myself,” Lauren says. “The Arc isn’t just about programs—it’s about changing lives and making sure people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have every opportunity to thrive.”
She’s been hands-on at advocacy events, helping push for policies that support people with disabilities and their families. She’s also been busy planning awareness events to bring more people to The Arc’s mission. “Every event, every conversation, every dollar raised moves us closer to a more inclusive world,” she says.
And did we mention she’s a published author? Lauren has always been a storyteller at heart, and she sees fundraising as an extension of that. “Every donor, every individual we support— they all have a story. My job is to connect those stories in a way that inspires action.”
Her favorite part of working at The Arc? “The people! Everyone is so passionate, so dedicated, and honestly, so much fun. I’ve never worked somewhere that feels this mission-driven and welcoming at the same time.”
