(UPPER MARLBORO, Md) – May 31, 2024—The Arc Prince George’s County interactive, fun, outdoor Ready 2B Healthy Youth, Family, Fitness & Fun Festival is breaking barriers by providing a fully inclusive environment where youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities can enjoy fitness and wellness activities tailored to their Mind, Body, and spirit Mental Health needs.
This festival, set to take place on Saturday, June 8, from 10 AM to 2 PM at 1401 McCormick Drive, promises a day filled with enriching activities for youths with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families.
Event Highlights:
- Designing a Mental Health Plan: Interactive workshops to help attendees create personalized mental health strategies.
- Basking in a Sound Bath Session: Experience the therapeutic benefits of sound healing and relaxation.
- Creating Self-Care Crafts: Engage in fun and creative crafting activities focused on self-care and mindfulness.
“Mental health conditions, problems, and challenges are rarely addressed publicly in the IDD community,” said Melonee Clark, Division Director of Education & Community Engagement at The Arc Prince George’s County. “We are excited to offer a space where youths with IDD can explore and enhance their well-being in a supportive and joyful environment.”
