Step 1: Determine Eligibility
Complete eligibility requirements and screening for Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) services.
Step 2: Access the Services
If determined eligible to access DDA services, collaborate with your Coordinator of Community Services (CCS).
Start preparing your application packet (Universal or Arc Application, IEP or Person Centered Plan, BehaviorlSupport Plan, Psychological Evaluation, Health Risk Screening Tool, other health/medical records, list of medications, etc.)
Step 3: Apply for Services
Submit your information to The Arc Prince George’s County. Meet with our program intake team. Notify your CCS of your choice agency.
Step 4. Request for Service Authorization
Our Admissions Team will review your application and let you know of the decision. urteam will develop a detailed service authorizationin consultation with your CCS and DDA.
Step 5 . Arrange start date
Our Program Team Leaders will arrange the service start date after we receive an approval from the DDA.

Day Services
What are Day Services?
The Arc’s Day Services provide a variety of recreational, enrichment, vocational, community, and therapeutic experiences, ensuring that the people we support enjoy a meaningful day. The Arc has four day centers providing services for the Northern, Central, and Southern areas of Prince George’s County. These facilities are located in Laurel.

Community Personal Supports
The Community Personal Supports program is funded by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Each person enrolled in the program has been approved by DDA for a specific number of support hours each week. The staff – known as “Community Companions” – provide assistance with daily living skills, community inclusion activities, access to health care, and other community-based services.

What does The Arc Transportation Department do?
The Arc provides door-to-door transportation for all Arc program participants through Metro Access and Arc Transportation Services. Transportation services are provided between Arc program locations and participants’ homes, and Arc programs and community locations.
The Arc Transportation Department monitors all transportation to and from The Arc programs – whether Arc Transportation or Metro Access is used. Arc Transportation sorts through issues with Metro Access for all Arc clients and ensures all clients get home in a timely fashion.
What do I do if my ride is late?
If your ride is more than 30 minutes late picking you up, call The Arc Transportation Department at 301-925-2730, ext. 34.
What do I do if my family member is late coming home?
If your family member is more than 30 minutes late coming home, call The Arc Transportation Department at 301-925-2730, ext. 34.
What do I do if I need to cancel my ride?
If you must cancel your ride, call The Arc Transportation Department at 301-925-2730, ext. 33. If possible, call at least two hours before your scheduled pick-up time.
What do I do if I have an emergency before of after business hours?
If you have an emergency before 6:00 am or after 6:00 pm, please call 301-219-6775 or 301-906-8523.
What happens in inclement weather?
Arc transportation does not follow Prince George’s County Public School closures and delays. Please call (301) 543-7742 for inclement weather updates.

Self Advocacy: People on the Go
Self Advocacy: People On The Go
People on the Go is a nationally recognized organization of individuals with developmental disabilities who want to work together to further the cause of self-advocacy. There are many chapters of the group, one of which is sponsored by The Arc Prince George’s County.
Out on the Town
Out on the Town
Adults with development disabilities participate in chapters of this social club. Currently, clubs meet at one of our Largo locations. Out on the Town members meet twice monthly for three-month sessions, to socialize, dine out, and participate in community events. The group currently meets on Tuesdays from 4:30 – 8:30 and on Wednesdays from 5:00 – 9:00.
