Community and Personal Supports

Community Personal Supports

The Community Personal Supports program is funded by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Each person enrolled in the program has been approved by DDA for a specific number of hours of support each week. The staff – known as “Community Companions” – provide assistance with daily living skills, community inclusion activities, access to health care and other community-based services.

DDA can also approve additional Supplemental Services. These may include respite care, adaptive equipment and transportation services.

This program is highly individualized and services are based upon the person-centered plan developed by the individual along with his/her team. Most people supported by this program are adults interested in greater access to their communities.
